Brown Consulting provided the design, project management and construction supervision services for this $18 million upgrade of the Monaro Highway. The project included duplicating 1.5km of highway from Canberra Avenue to Newcastle Street as well as the construction of new bridges over Canberra Avenue and a rail line.

With the Monaro Highway set to become a major freight route, the upgrade was necessary to cater for future traffic predictions and to ease congestion for the 40,000 motorists who use the highway each day.
