Brown Consulting provided structural and civil engineering design services for the Toyota Australia’s Head Office in Port Melbourne. The structure includes an open plan office space with minimum columns and allows maximum natural lighting through full length perimeter glazing and no bracing bays. A large column free auditorium was made possible by the use of 16m continuous composite steel transfer beams over the supporting columns. The building is a continuous composite steel construction with full height columns, minimised steel tonnage and structure height with pin ended arch atrium structure to create a slender and elegant facade.

Design of the structure was carried out using rigorous three dimensional dynamic analysis. This comprehensive and efficient designing enabled construction to be completed ahead of time and event free.
