The ACT Government has released land in West Macgregor to the private sector in a move to hasten the build up of land supply in the Territory.

Prior to this release of 570 lots the Government has been controlling all land releases through the Land Development Agency. Brown Consulting has completed many of the LDA’s projects in the recent past and we are now looking forward to again working with the private sector on a land development in the ACT.

The parcel of land auctioned in April comprises 68 Ha and is the last remaining greenfield residential area in the established Belconnen district. It is in close proximity to the commercial centres of Civic and the Belconnen Town Centre.

The project was won by Village Building Company with whom we have had a longstanding relationship in the land development industry. They propose to develop the land quickly with affordable housing as a key objective.

The project includes several road connections to the existing Macgregor suburb, trunk sewers, improvements to sewer odour control systems, water quality control ponds and bushfire protection measures.
